Before becoming a social worker, I worked as a special education teacher and later as a school social worker, supporting students of all abilities and their families. That experience gave me a deep understanding of how emotions, learning, and behavior connect — and how school, home, and friendships can all impact a child’s well-being.

In my office (and sometimes on the floor, with games, art supplies, or fidget toys), kids find a space where they can laugh, talk, and learn new skills in a way that feels safe and natural.

Therapy with me is interactive, compassionate, and developmentally informed. I blend play therapy, cognitive behavioral strategies (CBT), mindfulness, and social-emotional learning to meet each child where they are.

My background in education means I understand how to collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and school teams to ensure that progress in therapy translates to success in the classroom and at home. I also help parents understand what’s happening behind their child’s behaviors and how to respond in ways that promote connection rather than conflict.

     Before becoming a Social Worker, I spent 10 years as an EMT and 6 years as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, serving both on the front lines and behind the radio. I was also a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team, first as a peer supporter and later as a mental health professional. I know what it means to carry the weight of critical incidents, shift work, and the expectation to stay strong even when you’re running on empty.

My approach to therapy with first responders is real, direct, and trauma-informed. There’s no need to censor your stories or explain the culture — I get it. We’ll work together to process cumulative stress, critical incidents, and the silent toll of the job using evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based strategies. Therapy often focuses on managing hypervigilance, reducing burnout, improving sleep, strengthening relationships, and restoring a sense of control and peace.
